How The Fast X CinemaCon Trailer is Putting Families in the Action and Reimagining the Franchise

How the Fast X CinemaCon Trailer is Raising the Bar for Family Adventure Movies

With The Super Mario Bros. Movie dominating the box office, Universal is already having a wonderful year, and with Fast X approaching, that year is likely going to get much better. With only a few weeks until the movie hits theatres, Vin Diesel and other Fast Family members were on stage at CinemaCon to reveal an expanded version of the movie’s final theatrical trailer, which included a number of sick new action scenes.

However, Vin Diesel didn’t debut right away. Before Vin came out to promote not only Fast X but also its sequel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, and Sung Kang gave a brief recap of the series to start the presentation.

This summer merely marks the start of Fast X. Fast X will continue thanks to your dedication, affection, and the fact that you are a member of our family. I shall also have the honor of speaking to you in front of you once more for Part 2 in 2025 following this tremendous summer. Last week, it was revealed that Fast X director Louis Leterrier would return for Fast X-2, but this was the first time we had heard that the tenth Fast & Furious sequel would be released in 2025.

The franchise’s milestone was also mentioned by Diesel. Fast is currently the longest film franchise in history, with the same actors portraying the same characters, according to Diesel. And it’s true—aside from Brian, who was partially portrayed by Paul Walker’s brother in Furious 7 when Walker passed away while the movie was in production, a separate actor has never taken the position of a significant cast member.

The CinemaCon extended trailer opened with Brie Larson’s character receiving a briefing from Scott Eastwood’s nameless government official on the vast and dramatic history of Dominic Toretto and his family. Little Nobody, though, believes that their best days are behind them.

“The days where one man in a car can make a difference are over,” he claims.

After that, the video changed to full trailer format and switched between numerous scenes and set pieces. From a shot of Dom being driven around in a motorcade as a prisoner, we cut to John Cena’s Jakob defending Dom’s son Lil Brian in the cannon car in the scene from the previous trailer.

The CinemaCon trailer also gave us a better look at the tense fight scene between Cypher (Charlize Theron) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), which was first seen in the previous trailer. In CinemaCon’s expanded version of this scene, they included a scene in which Cypher nearly manages to kill Letty with lasers in the middle of the fight.

On May 19, Fast X bursts into theatres.
