Reuters: London The Archbishop of Canterbury’s office indicated as it released the liturgy to be used for the event that the public will be invited to swear loyalty to King Charles and to his heirs and successors.

Other firsts for the service include a prayer in Welsh and a hymn in Welsh, Scottish Gaelic, and Irish Gaelic, and female bishops will be allowed to participate, according to the announcement.
Charles, who succeeded his mother Queen Elizabeth as monarch of the United Kingdom and 14 other kingdoms in September, is scheduled to be crowned on May 6 at London’s Westminster Abbey in a ceremony filled with pageantry, pomp, and religious significance.
Welby stated on Twitter that “This Coronation celebrates the traditions of over 1000 years.” As we look ahead with optimism together, it also includes new and amended texts and other aspects, as well as the participation of individuals of all ages and from a variety of faiths and backgrounds.
