On Friday, Real Madrid responded to the passing of Patxi Izco, who served as C. A. Osasuna’s president from 2002 to 2012.

The current UEFA Champions League champions sent their sympathies to Izco’s family in response to his passing.

Real Madrid released a statement on its website regretting Izco’s loss at the age of 77.

“Real Madrid C. F., its president, and its Board of Directors deeply regret Patxi Izco’s passing. He served as C. A. Osasuna’s president from 2002 to 2012.”To all of his family, friends, his club, and all of C. A. Osasuna’s followers, Real Madrid would like to send its condolences and love.

Part of Real Madrid’s statement reads, “May he rest in peace.”

Osasuna made their first Copa del Rey final and participated in the UEFA Cup semi-finals while Izco was president.
